Finnish Crop Protection Association (KASTE) is working on behalf of its members in the field of crop protection in Finland. The association was founded in 1986.
Crop protection is crucial in ensuring the quantity and quality of food. Thus crop protection products have an important role in food production. KASTE participates the Quality strategy for food production announced by the Finnish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
KASTE provides a forum for members and represents and promotes their interests. The association represents its members in negotiations with the government authorities and organizations and other interest groups. In addition information services belong to key actions.
The objective is to promote the quality of food through crop protection. It is important that modern crop protection products, as a part of Balanced Crop Protection, are available to Finnish farmers and that these products are used according to the principles of sustainable agriculture.
KASTE is a member of the Chemical Industry Federation of Finland. The membership of European Crop Protection Association (ECPA) is shared with the sister associations in Sweden and Norway.
